Fire crews were called to a small grass fire in the Lake District.
Crews from Bootle and Seascale were called at around 5.10pm to an area near Wastwater yesterday, Wednesday September 10.
Bootle Fire Station said: “Firefighters took wildfire beaters and water backpacks and ventured into the wooded area to locate the fire.
“Once the fire was found, around 500m into the woods next to the water’s edge, it was extinguished.
“Crews were detained for around one-and-a-half hours.
“This fire was successfully located as the callers gave a location with the use of the app What3Words, which can take us directly to an incident within nine square meters no matter how remote.”
