A Cumbrian bin was discovered a wheelie long way away – in Southend-on-Sea.
Cumberland Council published a cheeky post on social media to say the branded bin had been discovered over 330 miles away in the seaside resort in Essex.
It said: “Looks like one of our Cumberland Council bins decided it needed a break and has been spotted all the way down in Southend!
“Thanks to our friends at Southend-on-Sea City Council for sharing the photographic proof.
“We’re not sure if it hitched a lift, rolled its way south, or just fancied some seaside chips and a stroll along the pier – but it’s certainly travelled further than most of us this summer!
“Wherever you are, remember: look after your bins (and maybe check they’re not planning to waste away on their own adventure).”
