A Workington man has been jailed for keeping three dogs in appalling conditions.
Following concerns raised about the welfare of the animals kept by Deri Hendren, 40, police raided his home.
On November 10 2024 officers from the constabulary’s dog section seized three dogs and a fourth was also found dead at the property.
Hendren, of Fisher Street, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court yesterday, Friday September 12, and was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.
He was banned from owning dogs for 10 years, ordered to pay £500 costs and a forfeiture order was issued removing him as owner of the three dogs.
