Happy Mums, an award-winning social enterprise supporting maternal mental health, is appealing to the West Cumbrian community for help to grow its network of peer-led support groups.
With successful groups already running in Workington, Cockermouth, and Wigton, Happy Mums is preparing to launch new groups in Whitehaven and Maryport and is calling on local volunteers, community spaces, and parents to help shape and support these new initiatives.
Happy Mums groups offer a warm, non-judgmental space for mums with children of all ages to connect, share, and feel supported.
Each session aims to include a volunteer helper to entertain little ones, giving mums time to focus on their own wellbeing.
90% of mums who complete Happy Mums’ impact survey report improved ability to manage their mental health, the social enterprise said.
