Penrith’s Paddington Bear statue is set to stay for another year.
The statue in Little Dockray was unveiled in Penrith in October last year.
It was one of 20 installed across the country ahead of a new film, Paddington in Peru, released in November 8.
Penrith – near the home of the World Famous Marmalade Awards at Dalemain, where Paddington is a regular visitor – was the only Cumbrian location chosen to host a Paddington bench.
The statue was only due to stay for a year.
however, Penrith Business Improvement District said: “We are delighted to announce that Paddington will stay in Penrith another year!
“He has become a landmark in Penrith and is still drawing visitors to Penrith to sit with him on the bench in Little Dockray.
“This was a joint project between Penrith BID, Penrith Town Council and Westmorland and Furness Council.”
