Egremont Crab Fair’s dog show was hailed a success – despite the weather.
It was organised and run by Graham Hogg and family, who stepped in at short notice last year when there was no one to run it.
This year, the event kicked off with the lure racing at 10.30am provided by the crab fair lure team.
The weather stayed dry and there was a good entry of dogs.
Robin and Brian ensured the event ran smoothly and each winner was awarded a rosette and slate trophy hand crafted by members of Robin’s family.

This was followed by the child handler class at 12.30pm. Arguably the toughest class of the entire show to judge, Chloe and Lucy Forster had the tough job to choose their winner, and it went to Toby Stamper.
The terrier, lurcher, whippet and gundog classes began at 1pm shortly followed by the constant downpour of rain which did not relent all afternoon.
Despite the weather there was a good entry of dogs across all rings and the judges had a tough job selecting their winners.
The open show was followed by the Best in the West championship.
This is where any dog which won champion or reserve at a Cumbrian Show over the last year compete against each other to be crowned the Best in the West.
