A Maryport health spa has raised over £800 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
Clients of Essence Wellness, on Senhouse Street, were invited to a pay what you can day last month.
A range of wellness treatments were on offer and people could pay whatever they could afford.
All proceeds from the day were donated to the hospice.
Gemma Hornsby-Lofthouse, owner of Essence Wellness, said: “We wanted to give our customers the opportunity to experience our services, even if they might not usually be able to afford them.
“It was important to us that this wasn’t about profit, but about giving back. Hospice at Home West Cumbria was the natural choice for support — they’ve been there for both my grandparents and my husband’s family in the past, and it means a lot to us to fundraise for such a wonderful cause.”
Jessica Woolaghan, partnerships and fundraising co-ordinator at Hospice at Home West Cumbria, said: “We are very grateful for the support of local businesses like Essence Wellness.
“Their generosity helps us continue providing vital care and support to people in our community. We’d like to thank Gemma and her team, as well as everyone who took part in the event.”
