
Emergency services were called after a car slipped off the road and was left hanging over the water.
Millom Coastguard Rescue Team said its members were called at around 1pm today, Friday September 26, along with Furness Coastguard Rescue Team, Haverigg Inshore Rescue Team, police and the fire service.
Millom Coastguard Rescue Team said: “The teams arrived to support the police and fire service.
“The vehicle was found to be securely wedged in trees and the occupant had left the scene.
“The fire service and Coastguard were stood down and the police are liaising with the owner and insurance company to arrange recovery.”
