Whitehaven have signed the former Workington Town half-back Ciaran Walker for the 2026 season.
Walker played under Haven coach Anthony Murray at Workington and there was talk of him linking up again during the League One season just ended.
When Mason Lewthwaite moved from Haven to Town, the opposite move for Walker was suggested but did not materialise.
Half-back and goal-kicker Walker (22) was named the League One young player of the year under the stewardship of Murray at in 2023 having scored 11 tries in 20 starts.
In total, the former Seaton amateur made 44 appearances for Town scoring 12 tries, 119 goals and 1 drop goal in four seasons.
Walker has been alongside Haven assistant coach Neil Frazer back at Seaton Rangers on dual registration for a lot of the 2025 campaign in CARL but will step back up to the professional game with Haven signing a two-year deal until the end of the 2027 campaign.
Murray said: “I’m delighted to welcome Ciaran Walker to the club.
“He’s a local lad with real talent, already recognised as a former League One Young Player of the Year.
“Having worked with him before, I know the quality he brings, and this move gives him the perfect chance to get his career back on track.
“We’re excited to help him reach his potential and proud to continue investing in local talent.”
