A financial management company are preparing to host a charity hoedown as part of a series of fundraising events for mountain rescue.
Financial Management Bureau, which is based in Kendal and Cockermouth, has raised £2,000 for Kendal Mountain Rescue Team so far this year, through activities including a gin tasting, sponsored car wash and by taking part in the 24-mile Settle Saunter walking challenge.
Most recently the firm laid on a guided walk in torrential rain in the Grisedale Valley, near Glenridding, led by Nicky Merrett, from Hiking Highs.
On Friday October 10, FMB will host a charity hoedown at the Ibis Sports and Social Club, in Kendal, with the aim of raising another £2,000 for Kendal Mountain Rescue Team.
FMB director of operations Ruth Power said: “Mountain rescue provide an incredible, life-saving service, from a dedicated team who devote their time and skills to keeping others safe.
“It has been a real pleasure and lots of fun to run these events throughout the year in such a good cause and I am sure Friday’s hoedown will be no different.
“We were inspired to run the event by the fact that everyone at work seems to be watching the series Yellowstone. Tickets are selling fast and so evidently the enthusiasm for a country hoedown has spread beyond our office.”
