Firefighters worked to try to make a dangerous structure safe at a commercial property on The Crescent, Carlisle, including the removal of two chimney stacks.
Yesterday afternoon, the structure was since been assessed by a building inspector who deemed it to still be unsafe.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was handed over to Cumberland Council and firefighters left the scene at around 4.30pm
There will be some pavements closures on The Crescent.
Vehicles can still use the road, but the council are asking pedestrians to follow signs and not go through the barriers for their safety
