A gruelling two-mile pull of a minibus has raised around £4,000 for a Cumbrian school.
Forty-eight volunteers took on the challenge in aid of Sandgate School in Kendal and pulled the four ton minibus up the town’s Greyhound Hill yesterday.
The team included Sedbergh School rugby squad and coaches, Network Rail workers from Carnforth depot and Sandgate School staff, parents and friends and they were cheered on by large crowds.
Organisers are now looking to their next challenge – and want 90 volunteers to pull a 4×4 vehicle two miles from Sedbergh football pitch to the top of Winder fell.

It will be held next year and will also include a family fun day, raising cash for three charities, including Sandgate School.
