Dominic Wear has re-signed for 2026 with Workington Town after a stand-out debut season.
The former Kells half-back picked-up three trophies at the club’s presentation night after some eye-catching League One performances.
He had joined Town after touring with the England Community Lions in Australia.
In his first season he played 18 games, scoring four tries and kicking seven goals.
Wear said: “I was pleased with how the season went. We had a blip in the middle but by the end of the season we were going well.
“With so many new players coming it took time to gel but I thought we finished the season well.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of Championship rugby, more regular matches and against teams we didn’t play last season.”
Wear followed his father Stephen in playing for Kells and then turning pro for Town.
But in his early days he showed promise with the round ball and spent time at Carlisle United, joining at the same time as goalkeeper Dean Henderson – now in the England squad.
Last season Town announced all their new signings and re-signings at one special reveal night at the Fibrus Community Stadium but this year they will be spacing the news out over the next few weeks.
