Whitehaven have announced another re-signing after Jake Pearce agreed a new one year deal.
The 25-year-old forward signed ahead of the 2025 season and made his debut in the first fixture, the home Challenge cup triumph against Swinton Lions.
Pearce went on to make 16 appearances all coming in the starting line-up, scoring two tries.
His first season in the professional game was rounded off last weekend as he represented Cumbria for the first time in their 70-6 victory over Nigeria.
Head coach Anthony Murray was full of praise for the former England Community Lion.
He said: “Jake Pearce made a huge impact in his first season in the professional game.
“He’s a player who gives absolutely everything every time he takes the field — aggressive in the right way, but always controlled and disciplined.
“He leads from the front and sets the standard for those around him.
“His recent selection for Cumbria, where he faced Nigeria, is a great reward for the hard work and commitment he’s shown.
“We’re delighted he’s agreed to re-sign and continue his journey with us — he’s got all the qualities you want in a player and a team-mate.”
