
A Lake District road is set to close for three weeks for resurfacing.
Work is due to start on two sections of the A591 from Bassenthwaite to Keswick next Monday, November 24.
Contractors, working on behalf of Cumberland Council, will carry out the work in two phases.
The A591 to Skiddaw Service Station, Bassenthwaite will be closed from Monday, November 24, to Tuesday December 2.
The A591 at Millbeck will be closed from Wednesday December 3 to Friday December 12.
The work is expected to last for up to three weeks, subject to weather and site conditions.
Access arrangements:
- No vehicular access within work areas during working hours (7.30am–7pm).
- Emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will have access at all times.
- Resident access will be restricted during working hours, but traffic marshals will assist where possible.
- Refuse collections will continue when safe to do so.
