Farmers, their families and friends and the wider community are invited to a Christmas carol service and market at Borderway in Carlisle next month.
The event, on Thursday December 11, has been organised by H&H Group and will be held in support of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
H&H Group said it was an opportunity to thank the farmers who work tirelessly throughout the year to produce the food that brings families together around the Christmas table.
All are welcome to join the festive evening, support an important cause, and celebrate the farming community at the heart of the festive season.
The evening begins with a mini festive market from 5pm, showcasing local produce and seasonal gifts including flowers, chocolates, cakes, honey, cheese, prints, cards and handmade crafts.
From 5.30pm, ticket holders can enjoy a hot pork roll and mulled wine, included in the £5 ticket price, with all proceeds donated to RABI.
The carol service, led by the Rev David Newlove, starts at 6.30pm and features traditional readings, festive music provided once again by the Allerdale Fiddlers, and much-loved carols sung by those gathered.
A highlight of the evening will be the candlelit procession of children who will step into the ring to gather around the crib, to sing Away in a Manger.
Nina Oxley, group marketing manager, said: “Our carol service is a truly special occasion. It brings people together in a way few events can. Hearing the community in fine voice and watching the children walk into the ring with their candles to sing Away in a Manger are moments that stay with you.
“We are proud to support RABI, a charity close to our hearts and we look forward to welcoming everyone once again to share in the festive spirit with us.”
RABI continues to provide crucial financial, practical, and emotional support to farming people in difficult times, a role that remains vital across the agricultural sector.
Tickets are available now from Borderway Mart on 01228 406230.
