A 64-year-old man is due to appear in court next month after he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and driving without insurance.
Cumbria police said they arrested the man in Kendal yesterday, November 26.
Officers said his roadside breath test was more than three times the drink-drive limit.
He was charged with drink driving today and driving without insurance.
On Tuesday, a 36-year-old Lancashire man failed a roadside breath test in London Road in Carlisle – blowing close to double the legal limit.
He was charged and will appear in court next month.
Cumbria police said: “Remember to plan ahead when you go out and have made arrangements to get home safely.
“Drink and drug driving ruins lives and it is completely avoidable.
“Our officers are highly trained to spot potential drink or drug drivers and we have the technology to test for it. If you are over the limit, you will be arrested – no excuses.”
