Cleator Moor Celtic were denied a dramatic comeback win by a late equaliser in their West Lancashire League clash at home to Rossendale.
Celtic had gone into the half-time break trailing 2-0 but had come back to lead 3-2 only to concede a third goal two minutes from the end.
The West Cumbrians had made a slow start but seemed to have got themselves sorted only to concede twice late in the half.
Scott Wylie (40) and Jack Mouncey (43) gave the visitors a handy two goal lead at the break.
Celtic’s decision making had been poor in the first half but they improved considerably on the restart and Josh Palmer quickly pulled a goal back on 48 minutes.
Callum Jackman got them level six minutes later and they went into a deserved lead on 67 minutes through Rhys Little.

Unfortunately Rossendale stole a point with a second goal for Wylie in the 88th minute.
To hear what Cleator Moor Celtic manager Gareth Agnew thought of the performance listen below:
Whitehaven stayed bottom after they lost 4-1 at home to Hurst Green after being all square at half-time.
They conceded after only two minutes when James Whitworth gave the visitors a flying start but Kian Goulding pulled them level on 19 minutes.
It was still all square at the break but seven minutes after the restart Tom Yates gave Hurst Green the lead again, and on 64 minutes Ryan Duncan made it 3-1.
Whitehaven fought hard to get back in the game but a 70th minute penalty by Scott Craven sealed the Hurst Green win.

Milnthorpe Corinthians continued their up-turn in form with a 2-1 win at Astley and Buckshaw United.
Robbie Mooring had scored early to give the Corinthians a 1-0 half-time lead and Zach Clark doubled that advantage a minute into the re-start.
Joe Glover scored from the penalty spot for the hosts on 54 minutes but Milnthorpe kept their lead to the final whistle.
For the second week in a row Millom had their game postponed, this time at Blackpool Wren Rovers.
