Plans for two new industrial buildings have been submitted for a West Cumbrian enterprise campus.

The £23.6m light industrial buildings would be erected at iSH Enterprise Campus, within Cleator Moor’s Leconfield estate.

The proposal for Unit 9 and Unit 12 has been submitted to Cumberland Council for approval.

The Industrial Solutions Hub (iSH) Enterprise Campus is a £50m economic regeneration initiative led by Cumberland Council with funding and support from Government through Town Deal and Levelling Up programmes, and other strategic partners including the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Sellafield Ltd.

The development of the site forms part of the wider regeneration programme being delivered across West Cumbria by iSH focused upon delivering economic growth opportunities around robotics, manufacturing and digital, it said.

Gary McKeating, managing director of iSH, said: “This is an important milestone, and we’re pleased to see the development progressing through to fruition.”

The two new buildings are expected to be available from summer 2027, subject to planning approval.

iSH said the units would be tailored to meet the needs of the business community, with the flexibility to support a range of uses including single occupancy by established businesses or ‘grow-on’ units for businesses looking to take the next step.
