A Lake District guest house has been sold for an undisclosed sum.
Norwood House in Ambleside has been run by Keith and Wendy Morgan since 1996 and the couple now plan to retire.
The Church Street guest house has eight en suite bedrooms, guest dining room, lounge and kitchen, plus a two-bedroom apartment used as owners’ accommodation.
Keith and Wendy said they searched for two years to find the right buyer for Norwood House. They appointed Graham Wilkinson, of Christie & Co, earlier this year to market the property.
It was on the market for £740,000.
A sale has now been completed.
Keith and Wendy said: “We are delighted to have worked with Graham Wilkinson at Christie & Co to find a suitable purchaser for Norwood House.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ambleside and welcoming guests to Norwood House. We now look forward to our retirement and new adventures.”
Graham added: “Our targeted approach to the marketing of this guest house enabled us to reach the right audience and quickly find a new owner for Norwood House. It has been a pleasure to work with Wendy and Keith, and I wish them the very best in their retirement.”
The sale was supported by local solicitors, with Stuart Bailey of Thompson Hayton Winkley acting for the sellers and Terri Abbot of Harrison Drury acting for the buyers.
