Holker Old Boys snatched a point in a topsy turvy NW Counties Division One North clash at Darwen.
They led 2-0 at half-time; trailed 3-2 in stoppage time and then grabbed a last gasp equaliser in the sixth minute of time added on.
Jamie Hodgson had given them a flying start with the opening goal after just two minutes and Callum Fawcett doubled the advantage on 27 minutes.
But Darwen hit back after the break and Bruno De Almeida Severino reduced the deficit on 57 minutes and Josh Abbott levelled 12 minutes from the end of the 90.
It was time added on that produced the real drama.
Nathan Bond thought he’s won it in the third extra minute but they played on and in the 96th minute Farryl Foster grabbed a deserved point for the south Cumbrians.
The point lifted Darwen to second in the table with Holker in 10th, but only three points off the play-offs and with matches in hand of eight of the nine teams ahead of them.
In the West Lancashire League it was another blank afternoon for three of the Cumbrian sides in the Premier Division.
Whitehaven at Astley and Buckshaw United; Cleator Moor at Haslingdon St Mary’s and Millom at home to Burscough Richmond were all postponed.
It left Milnthorpe Corinthians as the only one to play and their recent improved run ended with a 3-1 home defeat to Poulton.
They trailed 2-0 at half-time, conceded a third before substitute Jack Crane produced a well-taken finish to get Corinthians on the sheet but it remained 3-1 to the final whistle.
Main talking point in the league was the first defeat of the season for leaders Eagley who went down 1-0 at Lostock St Gerard’s.
