Power cuts in Cumbria as bad weather bites

UPDATE MONDAY DECEMBER 15: All power cuts resolved

People across Cumbria are experiencing power cuts as the bad weather starts to bite.

The Met Office currently has an amber warning for rain in place between 6am today and 6pm on Monday for a section of the county, predominantly over the central and Western Lake District area and West Cumbria.

So far, SP Electricity North West said the following areas were affected:

• 258 properties in Hindpool, Barrow are affected. Estimated time of restoration 11.36pm.
• 22 properties in Lowside Quarter, Copeland are affected. Estimated time of restoration 2am Monday, December 15.
• 11 properties in Ulverston are affected. Estimated time of restoration 2.36am, Monday, December 15.
