The top two sides in the Cumberland County League were given tough battles in the latest round of matches.
Champions and current leaders Maryport Athletic were held at home by Keswick 2-2 while nearest rivals Unisun Athletic had to come from behind to beat Whitehaven Miners Social 2-1.
It leaves Maryport two points clear of their rivals but they have played two more games.
They had fallen behind to an unfortunate own goal on 16 minutes when some strong pressing by George Frampton forced a Maryport defender into a hurried back pass which ended in his own net.
It was another mistake, this time by Keswick’s young keeper Charlie Thomson, which brought the equaliser for Darren Rule.
He fumbled the ball and left Rule with a simple tap in.

But there was nothing he could do when Rule thumped in a cracker to give the champions the lead before half-time.
Keswick deservedly got back on terms with a second-half goal from Alfie West to give them their third draw of the season, and underlined they are a better team than their League position indicates.
In Carlisle Nathan Walkinshaw gave Miners Social a first-half lead against Unisun Athletic but the home side recovered to squeeze home 2-1 with goals from Josh Morley and Mikey Williamson.
It is not just a two-horse race, however, because Morehouse are still in the picture seven points off top spot with two games in hand.

They made no mistake with a 7-2 home win over the bottom side Cleator Moor Celtic reserves.
Kieran McGuire (2), Keenan Mackay (2), Laclan Leeson, Ryan McGuire and Bradley Colaluca scored for Mirehouse. Ellis Trotter and Jamie Martin responded for Celtic.
Cockermouth had a good 6-0 win at Barton Laws where Wigton Harriers have a good record.
Angus McIver, Jack Graham, Oscar Pickering, Louis Pickering, Caine Winter and Luke Graham wrapped up the points for Cockermouth.

In Division One leaders Northbank found out how much Silloth have improved as they shared six goals at Eden Street.
They had turned round at 1-1 and couldn’t be separated in the second half with two more goals apiece.
Jackson Slack (2) and Liam Wilson scored for Silloth with Charlie Thomson (2) and Ewan Tedford ensuring the leaders went home with a point.
In a battle of the Development sides, Unison Athletic beat Miners Social 8-2 with goals from Khalid Azeez (3), Jason McAleese, Jamie Boyce, Logan Riley, Ollie Karge and Matty Heaton. Calvin Rowell and Uchenhome Chdindu replied for the Miners.
Cockermouth reserves had a big 10-0 win over Carlisle City Development with goals from Troy Patterson (3), Joey Briers (3), Keith Skillen (2), Dean Stephns and Seth Crane.
There was a game in the Benevolent Cup in which Workington Juniors beat Aspatria 5-2, Matty Stephenson (2), Macauley Sharp, Chad Grisdale and Luke Davidson scored for Workington with Dan Pearson scoring both for Aspatria.
