Stevie Scholey Testimonial year to close with sportsman’s dinner

The Stevie Scholey Testimonial year will officially end on Friday, January 30 with a closing dinner in Workington’s Washington Central Hotel.

Scholey, a popular skipper for Workington Town, has enjoyed a busy year of events, capped by a special representative game at the Fibrus Community Stadium.

The dinner will see special guest speakers Alex Walmsley and Keith Senior provide anecdotes from their careers, with popular MC Howard Nicholson providing his own brand of humour.

Walmsley, 35, has played over 300 Super League games for St Helens after starting his career with Batley Bulldogs.

He has been capped nine time by England and four by Great Britain.

Senior, 49, played 365 times for Leeds in the Super League after he started with Sheffield Eagles (140 games), He bagged 171 tries for Leeds and 56 with Sheffield.

He was capped 10 times by England and 33 times by Great Britain.

Tickets for the dinner cost £40 and can be ordered from Scott on 07710642380.
