Trevor Iredale presents the Lamont Pridmore Economics & Business Prize to Sam Davison

A promising young entrepreneur from Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Penrith has been awarded the Lamont Pridmore Prize for Economics & Business.

Sam Davidson was chosen by his teachers, who were impressed by his dedication and strong performance in A-level economics.

Trevor Iredale, of Lamont Pridmore, met Sam to present him with his engraved glass award and Waterstones vouchers.

Trevor said: “On behalf of everyone at Lamont Pridmore, I’d like to congratulate Sam on his fantastic achievement.

“He has shown remarkable focus and initiative, setting a high standard for his peers in business studies.”

Sam currently works full-time at the town’s Sainsbury’s and will soon begin a degree apprenticeship as an operations analyst at Barclays’ Glasgow campus.

He will also be studying for a business management degree at the University of Strathclyde.

“At Lamont Pridmore, we take pride in doing what we can to support and encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs,” added Trevor.

“It’s always a pleasure to recognise hard-working students like Sam, and we hope this award motivates him to keep challenging himself and pursuing his ambitions.”
