Workington Reds will have new midfielder Isaac Whitehall involved for the first time tomorrow when they host Stockton Town.
Whitehall is bidding to rebuild his career after a frustratingly unfortunate run of foot injuries ended his stay with Blackburn Rovers.
He has been training with Billy Barr’s squad for the last few weeks and will be given game time tomorrow against high-flying Stockton.
Whitehall is Barr’s second signing for the club, after centre-half Tyler Magliore who might be soon on his way back to full-time football.
Magliore, who was with Northampton Town last season, has been impressive for the Reds and his form earned him a trial with a Scottish Championship side. At the moment he is still available for Reds game with Stockton
Dav Symington had been the only injury concern during the week but Tom Stephenson was feeling his hamstring in training last night.
Stockton are just outside the play-offs in sixth place. That followed a goalless draw with Whitby Town last week, but when they were meant to head to FC United of Manchester on Tuesday, foul weather got the better of the pitch and it was postponed.
Stockton come into the Reds game on the back of two consecutive clean sheets, with the Whitby stalemate following on from the Durham Cup progression at Dunston, where Michael Dunwell’s side won 1-0.
Right back Ryan Barrett will be available for the game after his loan spell from Alfreton was extended for another month.
Despite meeting just three times in their history, Stockton have scored a whopping 14 goals in their previous meetings, including a 6-0 victory earlier in the season;
In October last year they won their home game with the Reds 5-0 and completed the double with a 3-1 win at Borough Park in February.
Reds crashed 6-0 at Stockton this August in an early season clash to leave it standing at one goal scored and 14 against in three games.
