A bid has been lodged for a new business park in a South Cumbrian town.
Watch This Space Property Limited has applied for outline planning permission from Westmorland & Furness Council for the development off Shap Road.
Flock Business Park would be built on land north of Meadowbank Business Park on Shap Road, Kendal.
The firm said up to 3,063 jobs could be created across logistics, industry, office and food and beverage sectors and temporary employment during the construction phase.
The company said: “Watch This Space is a locally rooted award winning developer with a strong reputation for creating high-quality, well designed spaces that connect with the character and communities of the Lake District.
“The company specialises in bringing new life to underused buildings and land, delivering developments that contribute positively to the local economy.”
According to planning documents, the site is currently undeveloped agricultural pastureland.
The firm added: “The overall design concept for the proposed masterplan has been strongly influenced by the rural setting and the site’s historical use as a working farm, the traditional form of industry in a rural setting.
“The proposed development will make a significant contribution to addressing the acute shortfall in employment land in Kendal and South Lakeland, delivering space for business growth, job creation and inward investment.
“The development will deliver significant positive economic, social and environmental benefits.”
The consultation period is set to run until January 29.
