Have you ever thought about adoption?

Maybe it’s been on your mind for a while, or perhaps you’re just starting to explore the idea.

Whatever stage you’re at, now is the perfect time to take that first step – and Adoption Cumbria is here to walk alongside you.

Let’s clear up a few myths

You don’t need to be part of a couple to adopt. Single people make wonderful adopters.

If you’re from the LGBTQ+ community, you’re very welcome!

You don’t need to be young either – life experience is a real strength.

And you certainly don’t need to be wealthy or even own your home. Renting is absolutely fine.

What matters most is that you can offer a safe, loving, and stable home for a child or children.

Why now?

Across the country, there’s a shortage of adopters.

Many children are waiting for families who can give them the love and security they deserve – especially older children and brothers and sisters who need to stay together. These children unfortunately, wait much longer to be adopted.

Children like Hudson are waiting

Meet Hudson – a bright, resilient toddler with a smile that lights up the room!

Hudson loves music, animals, splashing at bath time, and exploring outdoors. He’s affectionate, full of cuddles.

While Hudson has some developmental delays, he’s making amazing progress – taking steps with support and starting to say words.

He may need extra help with speech and motor skills, but he’s healthy, sleeps well, and enjoys trying new foods.

His foster carers call him “a special little boy working hard to achieve his milestones.”

Hudson needs a loving family ready for fun, laughter, and plenty of hugs.

Could you give him the support he needs to thrive and the caring home he deserves? Click here for further information.

We’ll be with you every step of the way

Could this be your year?

If you’ve ever wondered about adoption, why not make 2026 the year you turn that thought into action?

You don’t need to be perfect – you just need to be ready to offer love, patience, and commitment. The difference you can make is life-changing.

Start with a simple conversation.
