Former Carlisle, Workington and Barrow striker Andy Cook looks as though he could be on the move again.
The 35-year-old is Bradford City’s fourth all-time leading goal scorer with 88 to his credit but he hasn’t figured for manager Graham Alexander since he was a second-half substitute in the 3-0 Vertu Trophy defeat at Bolton on December 2.
A number of League One and Two clubs have reported to be interested in taking the Bishop Auckland-born striker on loan.
But the smart money is on Cook going back to one of his former clubs, Grimsby Town, for whom he scored 14 goals in 73 appearances between 2012 and 2014.
Cook started his career in the youth academy with Carlisle United and while there he had loans spells at Workington (22 games, five goals) and Barrow (14, 1).
He made the move to Barrow permanent in 2011 and in two seasons scored 18 goals in 60 games.
It was from there that he moved to Grimsby and in two seasons he scored 14 goals in 73 appearances and was on the losing side in two National Conference play-off finals.
His have-goals-will travel approach saw him have spells at Barrow again (87, 47), Tranmere (85, 49), Walsall (43, 13), Mansfield (43, 9), Tranmere again on loan (5, 0), Bradford City (177, 88).
