Another former Workington speedway rider has announced his intentions for next season.
Kyle Howarth is returning to Leicester Lions for a second successive season with the 2025 Premiership runners-up.
Howarth made the move to the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park after giving extensive service to Sheffield where he had enjoyed a testimonial – and ironically it was the Lions who then eliminated the Tigers in both KO Cup and play-off semi-finals.
He said: “I was really happy with last season. It was a change for me being with Leicester in the Premiership, but I know how Stewart (Dickson) works and what his expectations are of the riders he picks.
“I felt like I did a good job, I was solid in my position and I was winning races, and me and Dougy (Ryan Douglas) had a good partnership.
“It was nice that Stewart wanted me back in the team. He knows what I can do and what I can bring to the table.”
The 31-year-old Manchester-based Howarth rode for Workington at Derwent Park for four seasons – 2012 to 2015.
