For people planning a family event in the coming months, a West Cumbrian hotel is offering people the chance to get some inspiration at an event this weekend.
The Hunday Manor Hotel, near Workington, is undergoing a multi-million-pound refurbishment to be restored to its former glory.
The first phase of the work by owner Osprey Management Group – the Woodland Suites function facility – opened in the autumn.
This weekend, people are invited to have a look at the transformation into a luxurious venue for weddings, corporate events and family occasions.
The Woodland Suites will be open from noon to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday for people to have a look at its transformation and talk to team members about how they can help them have the perfect day at the country house hotel.
Jon Fell, director of food and beverage at Osprey Management Group, will be holding cooking demonstrations to show off courses inspired by the hotel’s wedding menus.
He said: “I can’t wait to share with you all a few of Hunday Manor’s wonderful wedding favourites — dishes that are all about flavour, quality local ingredients, beautifully presented, designed to make a couple’s day extra special, and creating a memorable experience for them and their guests.”
His cooking demonstrations will take place from 1pm to 2pm on both days.
Vocalist Danielle Vocals will also be joining the fun on both days for live performances.
She will be performing from noon to 1pm and 2pm to 3pm.
Owners Osprey Management Group, which bought the hotel in 2023, said it was the centrepiece of the hotel and a taste of things to come for the rest of the hotel.
The group said it wanted the hotel and the Woodland Suites to be the premier destination venue in the county.
It added: “The Woodland Suites are large, modern spaces designed with versatility in mind, mixed in with the romantic charm of a country manor house.”
