A Cumbrian housebuilder is backing Penrith’s youth football teams.

Genesis Homes has announced the sponsorship deal with Penrith Football Club.

Genesis Homes, based in Penrith, supports a number of local grassroots clubs across the county.

Nicky Gordon, founder and managing director of Genesis Homes, said: “I’m proud we can play a part in helping young people across Cumbria enjoy the benefits of team sport, something I’ve always been passionate about having experienced first-hand the camaraderie and community spirit it can bring.

“It’s also especially rewarding to be able to support clubs that our own team or family members are involved with, which we’ve been committed to doing for many years.

“We’re incredibly invested in the wellbeing and future of our communities and are delighted to contribute through partnerships like this one with Penrith Football Club.”

Mark Taylor, of Penrith Football Club, said: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Nicky and everyone at Genesis Homes for their support in sponsoring the girls kits for the season ahead.

“Sports teams would struggle to exist if it wasn’t for the generosity of local people and businesses who provide sponsorship, time and support for the teams.

“Girls football is continuing to grow, and any support will help this grow the game further in the years to come. Penrith Football Club are grateful for the sponsorship and more importantly we continue to create a good team environment where everyone is welcome.”
