Young people in Seaton are being asked to help decide what future services in their village should look like.
An event next month will ask them what is good about the village, and what could be done to better meet their needs.
The views gathered will help Cumberland Council, police, organisations and residents make informed decisions, ensuring resources are targeted where they are needed most.
The event, hosted by the council’s Workington Together Community Panel, is on Wednesday February 18 from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
People are asked to meet at St Paul’s Church Hall on St Paul’s Avenue, where there will be free tea, coffee, and bacon sandwiches on offer.
The event will start with some discussions in the church hall, then people will head out for a walk around the village, to see exactly how it works for young people.
Then there will be a workshop at the village hall, where everyone can share their views and ideas and have them included.
The process will helps the community map what services exist, what works and what gaps there are in provision.
The event will be led by council staff, and local councillors, including Seaton ward member Councillor Jimmy Grisdale, will also be on hand to discuss people’s views.
This event should last around three hours in total. Those with mobility issues are welcome to attend just the workshop parts of the event.
Everyone in Seaton is welcome to join this event, not just young people and families.
