The two leading sides in the Cumberland County League suffered setbacks in their pursuit of the title.
Biggest shock was for leaders and champions Maryport Athletic who were beaten 4-1 by visiting Workington Juniors.
Their biggest rivals Unisun Athletic could only draw 1-1 at home to Aspatria, so now the championship race has developed into a four-horse race.
It was all square at half-time at Milltoft but Workington came through strongly after the break and won with goals from Shane Roe (2), Josh Hoggarth and McAuley Sharp while Ellis Short scored the lone Maryport reply.
Unisun were goalless at half-time against Aspatria and each scored once in the second period – Mikey Williamson for the hosts and Darryl Creighton for Aspatria.
Clearly a fine 4-2 win at Keswick the week before has given Aspatria a boost in confidence.
Keswick were on the receiving end again, beaten 4-1 at home by Mirehouse – a result that has put the Whitehaven side right in the title mix.
Callum Wilson, Keenan Mackay, Paddy Rooney and Nicky McAllister scored for Mirehouse with Stephen Moss netting for Keswick.
All that means Mirehouse have moved into a threatening position and the current top four will all believe they can go on to win the title.
The leaders are: Maryport Athletic played 10, 23 pts; Workington Juniors 10, 21; Unisun Athletic 7, 19; Mirehouse 9, 19.
Elsewhere in the Premier Division games Cockermouth won 4-2 at Cleator Moor Celtic reserves with goals from Luke Graham (3) and Ewan Harrison. Adam Smith and Brad Barwise replied for Celtic.
Wigton Harriers are the draw specialists and although still looking for their first win in nine games have drawn six of them.
Latest was a 1-1 stalemate with Whitehaven Miners as Harvey Harrison popped in a goal for the home side with Nathan Walkinshaw responding for the west Cumbrians.
Two games were off in Division One – Miners Development v Northbank as the pitch was declared soft and dangerous while the referee also postponed the game at Bransty against Winfdscales reserves because he felt it was unplayable.
With Northbank not playing it gave Dearham the chance to go top and they made no mistake with a 3-1 win at Silloth. Lewis Walling, Oliver Scott and Jack Brown scored for the villagers with Ewan Trestianu replying for Silloth.
There was a tight game at Cockermouth where the home club’s Reserves beat Unisun Development 2-1. Patrick Williams and Keith Skillen scored and Logan Riley kept the visitors in the contest.
