
A cyclist has died following a collision on the A6.
The incident happened south of Hackthorpe, near Penrith, today, Wednesday, January 28.
It also involved a HGV.
The cyclist suffered serious injuries in the collision.
Emergency services attended including an air ambulance.
However, the cyclist – a local man in his 70s – died at the scene.
Police are investigating and are encouraging anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it, or anyone who has dashcam which may be of assistance – or anyone else who can assist – to come forward.
