A lawn mower, filing cabinets and pond liners were among the items dumped at a remote location.
It is believed the rubbish was fly-tipped between noon and 2pm on Wednesday January 28.
It was dumped at Eller Riggs Brow in Osmotherley, near Nether House Lake District close to Ulverston – the What3Words location is ///scrub.parship.develop
The rubbish could have actually been fly-tipped at any time, but Westmorland & Furness Council said a local resident had passed the area around noon and 2pm.
The authority said due to the size and manner of the dumping, it believed the waste was likely tipped from a flatbed tipper wagon.

It added it suspected that it may have been collected by someone offering a professional waste removal service and then illegally dumped.

Items dumped include:
- A broken-up wooden shed
- Metal filing cabinets
- 2 plastic pond liners (1 large, 1 small)
- Bird feeding table
- Bottom section of a wooden wardrobe
- Metal table frame
- Green lawn mower & strimmer
- Red sander
- Hose, screws, nails, clips
- Green garden waste and chippings

If anyone recognises any of the waste, the items, or saw a vehicle that may have been involved in the incident, email [email protected] and quote reference 4861542.

The council added: “Any information, no matter how small, could help. All information will be treated in strict confidence.”
