A new head has been appointed to lead a Lake District school.
Jessica Sheldrick will join Windermere School this summer.
She has been appointed following an international search and a rigorous selection process, the board of governors said.
Mrs Sheldrick joins Windermere from Rishworth School in West Yorkshire, where she enjoyed a 24-year tenure, most recently serving as head.
Her extensive background encompasses academic leadership, pastoral care, boarding, safeguarding and whole-school strategy.
The school said her breadth of expertise was set to be a cornerstone for it as it entered its next chapter of growth.
Peter Hogan, chair of governors, said: “What particularly impressed the Board was Jessica’s alignment with our school’s values.
“Her leadership is rooted in the belief that academic excellence must sit alongside adventurous learning and outstanding care for every child, an approach that mirrors Windermere’s identity as an outward looking school.”
She replaces Frank Thompson, who joined the school in 2023 and will retire at the end of this academic year.
