
Aspatria Pool League leaders Sun Inn A played host to Cumberland B, and the match wasn’t really a contest.
The home side took the points with an emphatic 8-1 win, as Steve Whitehead was the only winner for the Cumberland team.
Andrew Henderson, with an excellent eight ball clearance in his frame, produced the performance of the night.
Second-placed Sun Inn B travelled to play Wigton Rugby Club, and it was an even more emphatic win for the in-form Aspatria side as they won 9-0.
Gregg Todd was the Sun Inn’s player of the match with some solid pool.
Miners A made the journey to Silloth to take on Cumberland A and got off to a flying start taking a 3-0 lead thanks to Karl Charters Stu Irwin and Ryan Irving.
But Willie Graham and Alan Todhunter won the next two frames to pull the match back to 3-2.

However, Craig Wilson sealed the last singles game for Miners to go into the doubles with a 4-2 lead.
Cumberland then pulled off a great comeback win, playing some great tactical pool to take all three doubles to steal the match 5-4.
Mike Ramsden and Alan Todhunter clinched the last frame against Paul Clarke and Andrew Wilson.
Sun Inn FC took on Throstle B at their home venue, and got off to a good start with Tommi Allen winning the first frame.
But Throstle B then took control winning the next three frames thanks to Andrew Kenny, Wayne Jackson and George Twentyman.
Sun Inn fought back and Johnny Gray and Zane Alderson made the match all square at 3-3 going into the doubles.
The Aspatria side gained the advantage winning the first double, but Throstle B then went away with the points after winning the last two doubles to win the match 5-4.
There was an in-house derby at the Letters Inn, where the B team took on the A team.
The A team ‘got off to a flying start against the league’s bottom team, and led 4-2 after the singles.
There were wins from James Rumney, Shaun Wilson, Rod Campbell and Owen Thorndike. The B team had winners in Alex Barton and James Harrington.
The Letters B pulled it back to 4-3 winning the first double, but the A team won the remaining two doubles.
Wilson and Campbell won both games for the Letters A team, while Barton won both his games for the B team.

Throstle A continued to push to stay in touch with the top two when they took on Wigton Park BC.
Ian Johnston and John Mackenzie got the Throstle off to a quick start, before Brady Bell and Ryan Ashbridge pulled the match level at 2-2.
Throstle captain David Prescott and Martyn Frizell swung the match in the Throstle’s favour winning the last two singles.
In-form Ian Johnston and playing partner Alex Studholme then won the first double for the Throstle A team to gain the points.
Bowling Club team pulled one back thanks to Brady Bell and Caden Corrigan, but John Mackenzie and Frizell won the last frame of the night for the Throstle.
