A course to help women who are out of work or dreaming of starting their own business will take place in Cleator Moor next month.
The Thriving Women programme, run by Lakeland Wellbeing CIC, will be held from March 17 to 19 following the success of the programme last month in Whitehaven.
This fully funded programme offers the chance to reconnect with confidence, identify strengths, and explore sustainable steps toward employment or self-employment.
Organisers said that the Thriving Women Programme was experiential, supportive, and heart led.
They added: “Participants will not see whiteboards or PowerPoint presentations. Instead, women gather in a warm, welcoming space to take part in guided conversations, practical exercises, and confidence building activities that help them rediscover their personal power and sense of possibility.”
The March course will have an additional focus on supporting women who want to start their own business, providing practical tools, guidance, and coaching to help turn ideas into action. Participants will benefit from three group sessions, optional 1 to 1 coaching, and a circle of women who uplift and celebrate each other.
Eligibility criteria:
- Women living in West Cumbria
- Currently not in employment or interested in self-employment
- Able to attend all three days
The Thriving Women Programme is fully funded through the Copeland Community Fund and aims to strengthen confidence, wellbeing, and economic opportunity for women, while supporting the local community.
Jen Maxwell, founder of Lakeland Wellbeing CIC, said: “After seeing the transformation in our January participants, we are thrilled to offer this next course in Cleator Moor. This is about women supporting women to thrive, gaining skills, confidence, and clarity to create the work and life they want.”
