Last of Fred Conway County Cup quarter-finals tonight

The last of the Fred Conway County Cup quarter-finals is being held at Gillford Park tonight.

Holders Carlisle City entertain Windscale, with the winners joining Workington, Penrith and Kirkoswald in the semi-final draw.

Northern League City have had a couple of poor results recently which have seriously disappointed manager Dan Kirkup.

He told Cumbria Crack: “We are pretty much at full strength but lots of decisions to make on the starting 11 after those last two performances.

“I don’t think in my time in football I’ve ever crossed swords with Windscale but they play in the Wearside League and I know that’s a good standard.”

Windscale, like Carlisle City, had their game postponed on Saturday but the previous week had scored their first win of 2026, a 5-1 home victory over Annfield Plain.

Manager Stephen Fawcett said: “We have a full squad available and I had to leave two players out.

“The only ones missing are Matty Pierce and Will Rooke who are out with long-term injuries and have been for a while.

“Owen Woodburn, who joined from Whitehaven early in the season is also out because he’s Cup-tied.”

The kick-off at Gillford Park is 7.45pm.
