A two-phase project to resurface and improve drainage on a north Cumbrian road is set to start from next week.
Cumberland Council said work will start on Monday, February 16, on the C1401 at Wreay, near Carlisle. The road will be closed during the work.
The first phase, from High Wreay Farm to Wreay Village from Monday to Wednesday, February 18, will see that section of the road resurfaced.
The second phase, near Low Hurst motorway bridge, will take place from Thursday February 19 until Friday February 27 for drainage improvements.
The road will be closed, except for weekends, and a diversion route will be in place.
Working hours will be 8am to 4pm.
Access will be maintained for emergency services, pedestrians and cyclists.
Waste collections and school bus services will operate as normal.
