A remarkable collapse in the closing stages saw Barrow lose 3-2 at Fleetwood Town and are only a point above the drop zone.
The Bluebirds had led 2-0 at half-time and going into the 89th minute were still in front 2-1.
Fleetwood’s Crispin McLean grabbed the equaliser and then in the fourth minute of time added keeper Wyll Stanway fumbled and conceded an own goal.
It was a heart-breaking finish for Barrow who had looked to be in control at the break with their two-goal advantage.
Josh Gordon gave them a tenth minute lead from the penalty spot after he had been brought down, chasing a through ball, by the home keeper.
The advantage was deservedly doubled on 34 minutes when a deep corner from Charlie McCann was met by skipper Niall Canavan who headed home from close range.
Fleetwood had not threatened at all in the first-half but they were given a lifeline on 64 minutes when Esapa Osong was on hand to fire home after Stanway had parried a shot from Matty Virtue.
McLean’s leveller produced a telling end to the game from Fleetwood and after a goalmouth scramble Stanway was unfortunate to concede the match-winning own goal.
