Many are keen to avoid unnecessary conflict while still securing a fair financial outcome.
For cohabiting clients, there is often confusion around legal rights. Many assume they have the same protections as married couples, which is not the case.
They want to know whether they can claim an interest in property, how financial contributions are assessed, and what evidence may be required to support a claim.
My day-to-day role involves advising on financial positions, preparing court documents, reviewing financial disclosure, and progressing matters through the financial remedy process.
Where appropriate, I work closely with experts such as property valuers and forensic accountants to clarify complex financial arrangements. I also engage in negotiations with the other party’s solicitors to reach fair and practical settlements.
Ultimately, my focus is on supporting clients by providing clarity, reassurance and strong legal representation to help them move forward with confidence.
