Glasson Rangers hosted newly crowned Maryport Darts League champions Miners Arms and it was the table toppers who took a 3-0 lead.

Jason Bowe, Mark Pearson and Steven Ostle (with a maximum 180) notched the points before Glasson hit back with Scott Heaney and Axl Day defeating Jamie Bowe and Darren Bowe.

It made the score 3-2 going into the last single which was won by William Thompson for the champions and despite Glasson having some near misses The Miners ran out 9-2 winners.

Sun Inn Arrows made it four on the spin, beating second placed Silloth Bowling Club 8-3.

James Critchlow had given the Bowling club the lead when he beat Matthew Glencross, but the Arrows turned things around through Jordan Thompson, Kenneth Bowes and Jamie Glencross (106 Checkout).

Woody Lukeman made it 4-1 before Dan Redman, who’s been in fine form, pulled one back to give Silloth hope.

But Matthew Glencross and Thompson dominated the first double to make it 5-2 and the game was settled as a contest when Jobby Dunn and Jamie Glencross won the second double.

Lukeman and Gary Miller then made it 7-2 while Glencross, Bowes and Thompson took it to eight before the consolation point came in the last treble for Ronnie Frith, Trevor Frith and Dan Redman to tighten the race for second place with three teams now level on points.

Elbra Club faced Sun Dial A for whom Willy Richards got off to the perfect start before Darren Barnes made it 1-1. Paul Foster and Graham Hewitt won the next two for Sun Dial before Tony Lambert, with a 120 checkout, and Aaron Lister tied the game at 3-3.

Middleton and Barnes put Elbra in front for the first time in the match but it was soon all square again through Foster and Hewitt.

Lambert and Lister took the final double to make it 5-4 to Elbra but Sun Dial weren’t finished and got the first treble to level-up through Richards, Skelton and Foster.

The final leg, and the game, was won by the home side as Jake Jones, Lambert and Lister secured the 6-5 victory for Elbra.

Sun Dial B took on Sun Inn A and the visitors took the lead through Mikey Allan before Ged Bates made it 1-1. Ken McCartney put the Aspatria side back in front before Dial made it 2-2 through Martin Bell.

Ryan Fisher and Jayden Faulder made it 4-2 to the Sun Inn and they forged clear as Allan and Matty McCartney won the opening doubles; Johnny Taylor and Ken McCartney took the second and Fisher and Faulder made it 7-2.

Elbra Club – Tony Lambert 120 Checkout

Allan, Matty and Ken McCartney added to the lead before a consolation point was won by the home side through Bell, Palmer and Davies so they finished trailing on 8-3.

The final game of the week was a Bowling Club double header as Maryport A took on the Babes twice. Both games finished 10-1 to Maryport Bowling Club A whose team in both games was Dan Sewell, Steven Sewell, Jay Thompson, Danny Thompson, Matt Burns and Bobby Parker.

The Babes point came in the first match via Isabel Hunter and Moffat in the first double and in the second match they took the final treble via Irene Pattinson, Paisley and Dot Armstrong.

There are just two weeks left of league games with most teams running on schedule and only the league leaders Miners under pressure to fit in four games.
