Whitehaven are looking to pick up their first points of the season on Sunday when they entertain Rochdale Hornets on Sunday.

Aaron Turnbull and Cole Walker-Taylor return to the 21-strong squad while Barrow loanee Seth Woodend is included for the first time.

Coach Anthony Murray spoke to Barrow opposite number Paul Crarey and was told of how Woodend is held in high regard with the Raiders, earning his first professional contract last year.

Murray was disappointed in his side’s performance at Keighley last week when they lost 56-14 and is looking for his young squad to make amends tomorrow.

Rochdale are also coming into the game on a back of a bad result, beaten 42-6 at home by Hunslet.

Ahead of the trip to Whitehaven they have announced two new additions Widnes Vikings prop forward Jack Houghton has joined the club on a one-month loan, while hooker Reiss Butterworth has arrived on a one-week loan from Sheffield Eagles.

Second-row forward Ethan Wood comes into the game in good form, chosen in the Championship’s team of the month.

  • Rochdale: Ashton, Boyd, Butterworth, Coleman, Dallimore, Dayes, Green, Hansen, Hatton, Hickey, Holmes, Houghton, Kelly-Duffy, Lloyd, Metcalfe, S’au, Sheridan, Syme, Taylor, Waterworth, Will.
