A West Cumbrian pub’s community fund aims to help improve life in the area.

The Galloping Horse, at Harrington, offers grants to organisations and charities that are making a difference.

Part of the Osprey Management Group, the fund has already helped Whitehaven Sea Cadets, Egremont Rangers rugby club, Dean Scarecrow Festival, and Seaton Rugby Club.

The group sponsors Maryport ARLFC and Allerdale Girls FC.

The Galloping Horse donated signs and equipment to Whitehaven Sea Cadets.

The organisation is currently refurbishing its headquarters on Whitehaven Harbour.

Osprey Management Group’s operations director Colette Mounsey, said: “Thanks to the Galloping Horse fund, over the years, this support has made a lasting difference – helping children’s clubs thrive, backing numerous sports teams, and providing essential equipment for a wide range of local groups and centres.

“Our commitment is simple: to reinvest in the people and places that make our community strong, ensuring opportunities continue to grow for everyone.”

From foodbank donations to donating a Tramper for Whinlatter Forest – which helps people with limited mobility enjoy the great outdoors, Osprey Management Group said it was dedicated to supporting the community.
