Work is continuing on the Workington Gateway scheme and Cumberland Council said contractors were making good progress.
The £10m scheme aims to widen Ramsay Brow to allow HGVs direct access to the Port of Workington.
Phase two of the scheme began on February 23.
Cumberland Council said the upgrade of the gas network were completed last Saturday, March 14.
Traffic management will now be removed between Udale Street and Cumbria police’s Workington station.
The one way northbound system will remain in place between the police station and the Calva Brow roundabout.
Work includes the widening of the road so two HGVs can safely pass in opposite directions, the creation of formalised parking bays at Hall Park View for residents and wider pavements and a new pedestrian crossing.
