Holders Carlisle City are through to the Fred Conway County Cup final again after a penalty shoot-out win against Penrith.
A single goal last year was good enough to win the final against Penrith and this time the 90 minutes failed to produce a goal, and neither did 30 minutes of extra time.
It had been a game of few chances and was far from a classic, but all the drama came at the end when the outcome was decided from the penalty spot.
The first three penalties were all missed – Connor Shields and James Bell for Penrith and in between Tom Mahone for City.
Skipper Josh Simpson scored to give City the lead but Penrith then levelled through Lewis Boyd.

Aran Fitzpatrick then made it 2-1 but the next two efforts from Caden Beckett (Penrith) and Jordan Palmer (City) failed.
It was down to Luke Brown to keep the shoot-out going but he missed and City did not need their fifth, to go through to the final.
The second semi-final will be played next Tuesday at Penrith’s Frenchfield when Kirkoswald of the Westmorland League host Workington Reds.
