A 54-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape of a 16-year-old girl following an incident in the early hours.
Cumbria police were called at around 1am today, Friday March 20, to Park Head in Brampton.
Officers have arrested a 54-year-old local man on suspicion of rape.
He remains in police custody this afternoon.
The victim is being supported by specialist officers at this time.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about this incident who has yet to come forward to do so.
