A new chapter has begun at a West Cumbrian hotel after the first phase of its bedrooms revamp has been completed.
Hunday Manor Hotel, at Winscales, near Workington, is owned by Osprey Management Group, which is carrying out a multi-million-pound overhaul of the venue.
The group bought the hotel and the firm said it has big plans for venue.
It undertook structural work immediately after it bought the hotel and in October last year, unveiled the Woodland Suites – a luxurious function space for weddings, corporate events and family occasions.
Now, it has unveiled the first of its new-look bedrooms.
Six rooms have been completed, plus its luxurious bridal suite and work is underway to transform 13 more bedrooms.
Its new-look bedrooms feature luxury Sealy beds, atmospheric mood lighting, seating areas and stylish bathrooms.
Two of the rooms also have sofa beds for family stays.
The Garden Suite – its bridal suite – is the hotel’s crowning glory, so far.
The hotel said: “Designed with romance and relaxation in mind, this serene space features a statement arched backdrop with soft ambient lighting, luxurious textures, and elegant finishing touches – the perfect setting for those unforgettable pre-wedding moments.

“With a mirrored dressing room, garden views, double sink & spaces to relax, its got everything you need.”
Work started on the rooms in December and the group employed local firms including principal contractor L&K Curwen, M Bewley electrical, decorators Mark Cartwright and G Lawson plumbing.
TVs are provided by Brooks Whitehaven, carpets by Jeff Taylors, and interior design was carried out by Fidget Design.
Craig Lowery, managing director of Osprey Management Group, said: “We are delighted to launch the first phase of our completely renovated guestrooms at the Hunday Manor Hotel.

“We have the stunning Garden Suite complete with lounge, dressing area, double bath and many thoughtful extras including mood lighting, Nespresso machine, double bath and sinks and stunning views.
“There are many other features and secrets to this room that make it truly special.
“We have also launched the first six of our Manor House rooms in the original part of the building.
“The period features have been enhanced with modern amenities and many extra touches which we feel make these rooms really unique.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our first guests into these rooms and we are incredibly excited to continue our renovation work on all guest rooms.”
